1969 (13th September)
Shane Keith Warne was born to Keith and Brigitte Warne in Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Melbourne, Australia.
1981 (September)
Shane attended Hampton High School, Hampton, Melbourne.
1983 (during)
Shane Warne transferred to Mentone Grammar School after being offered a sports scholarship.
1983 (during)
Warne competed in the Victorian Cricket Association under 16 Dowling Shield competition for the University of Melbourne Cricket Club as a bowler.
1984 (during)
Warne became a member of St Kilda Cricket Club.
1987 (during)
Shane played football for the St Kilda Football Club under 19 team.
1988 (during)
Warne continued to play football for St Kilda and progressed to the reserves team. However, he didn’t progress further and decided to focus on cricket.
1990 (during)
Shane Warne was selected to train at the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide. He was later dismissed for dropping his trousers.
1991 (15th February)
Warne made his first-class cricket debut playing for Victoria against Western Australia.
1991 (Summer)
Warne played professionally for Accrington Cricket Club in the UK. The club decided not to keep him on for a second year.
1991 (September)
Warne was selected for the Australia B and toured Zimbabwe. His team won by 9 wickets.

After his performance in Zimbabwe, Shane was selected for the Australia A team match against the West Indies.
1992 (January)
Warne played his first Test match against India. However, his performance was not particularly good.

Warne returned to the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide.

Warne played for Australia against Sri Lanka, and played a role in his team’s victory.
1993 (June)
Warne made his name as a spin bowler during the Ashes Test against England, serving what has become known as the ‘Ball of the Century’ with his first ball.

Shane Warne played in three series during the year and was the leading wicket taker in all three, helping Australia to retain the Ashes.

Mark Waugh and Shane Warne were discovered to have given match information to an Indian bookmaker. Both men were fined by the Australian Cricket Board.

Following Australia’s Test against Pakistan, Warne’s total number of Test wickets had risen to 477.
2003 (February)
Warne was found guilty of taking a banned diuretic and given a 12-month suspension. He claimed that his mother gave him a pill to help him lose weight and that he did not know it was a banned substance. While he was banned he worked as a cricket commentator for Nine Network.

Shane launched the Shane Warne Foundation to provide assistance to very sick and underprivileged children.

Shane returned to Test cricket after serving his ban.

TV Channel, Nine Network, announced they would not renew Warne’s contract.

Shane Warne and his wife Simone separated due to Warne’s extra-marital liaisons. After his wife left, Shane began drinking.
