This timeline details the dates, board members, winners and runners up of the BBC TV Series The Apprentice UK. In the show, contestants compete to win business investment from Lord Alan Sugar.

 

The Apprentice Series 1 – 16th February – 11th May 2005
Alan Sugar supported by Margaret Mountford and Nick Hewer
Winner Tim Campbell, Runner up Saira Khan
Tim Campbell was taken on as Alan Sugar’s apprentice and became Project Director if Amstrad’s Health and Beauty division with a salary of £100,000 per year.
Runner up Saira Khan became a television presenter and media personality
Series 2 – 22nd February – 110h May 2006
Alan Sugar supported by Margaret Mountford and Nick Hewer
Winner Michelle Dewberry, Runner up Ruth Badger
Michelle Dewberry won a £100,000 position and was employed by Alan Sugar for just a few months.
Runner up Ruth Badger went on to become a television personality appearing on quiz shows, reality TV and business related shows.
Series 3 – 28th March – 13th June 2007

Winner Simon Ambrose, Runner up Kristina Grimes
Simon Ambrose was given a £100,000 position at Alan Sugar’s property company, Amsprop, where he remained until 2010.
Runner up Kristina Grimes became an investment sales director for property company Dandara.
Series 4 – 26th March – 11th June 2008

Winner Lee McQueen, Runner up Claire Young
Lee McQueen took up a £100,000 position for Alan Sugar working in two of his companies – Amshold and Amscreen before leaving in 2010.
Runner up Claire Young started a wedding consultancy business.
Series 5 – 25th March – 7th June 2009

Winner Yasmina Siadatan, Runner up Kate Walsh
Yasmina took up a £100,000 position in Amscreen Health Care.
Runner up Kate Walsh became a TV presenter.
Series 6 – 6th October – 19th December 2010
Alan Sugar supported by Karren Brady and Nick Hewer
Winner Stella English, Runner up Chris Bates
Stella English took up a position at Alan Sugar’s company Viglen but quit in May 2011 claiming the position was not demanding enough and went to work for the company YouView where Alan Sugar is Chairman. She resigned in October 2011 and in 2013 sued Alan Sugar for constructive dismissal but lost the case.
Runner up Chris Bates took up a position as an investment analyst at Hamilton Bradshaw before qualifying as a chartered accountant.
Series 7 – 10th May – 17th July 2011

Winner Tom Pellereau, Runner up Helen Milligan
Tom Pellereau, known as inventor Tom, was given a £250,000 investment into his Stylefile company.
Runner up Helen Milligan became Head of Retail in the South East for Greggs.
Series 8 – 21st March – 3rd June 2012

Winner Ricky Martin, Runner up Tom Gearing
Ricky won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar for his business Hyper Recruitment Solutions.
Runner up Tom Gearing became Director of a Fine Wine investment company.
Series 9 – 7th May – 17th July 2013

Winner Leah Totton, Runner up Luisa Zissman
Leah Totton won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar for her Cosmetic business, Dr Leah Clinic.
Runner up Luisa Zissman runs several companies and is also a TV personality.
Series 10 – 14th October – 21st December 2014
Alan Sugar supported by Karren Brady and Nick Hewer
Winner Mark Wright, Runner up Bianca Miller
Mark won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar for his internet business Climb Online.
Runner up Bianca Miller stated she would set up her ladies tights company put forward in the series.
Series 11 – 14th October – 20th December 2015

Winner Joseph Valente, Runner up Vana Koutsomitis
Joseph Valente won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar for his plumbing, heating and electrical business ImpraGas. In 2017 Valente bought Lord Sugar out.
Runner up Vana currently runs three lifestyle businesses.
Series 12 – 6th October – 18th December 2016

Winner Alana Spencer, Runner up Courtney Wood
Alana won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar in her cake company.
Runner up Courtney Wood is owner of a novelty gift business.
Series 13 – 4th October – 17th December 2017

Winners Sarah Lynn and James White both received investment
Sarah won a £250,000 investment and a 50-50 partnership with Alan Sugar in her sweet company, while James gained a £250.000 investment and a 50-50 partnership in IT recruitment.
Series 14 – 3rd October – 16th December 2018

Winner Sian Gabbidon, Runner up Camilla Ainsworth
Winner Sian Gabbidon won a £250,000 investment in her swimwear business
Series 15 – 2nd October – 18th December 2019

Carina Lepore won a £250,000 investment into her bakery business – Dough Artisan Bakery.
