Held at the Indigo O2 in Greenwich, London. Approximately 150 acts performed in front of all 4 judges.

The acts were told their fate.
6 contestants in each category were selected to go to Judge’s Houses.

Judges were allocated categories:
Simon Cowell – Boys, Dannii Minogue – over 25’s, Cheryl Cole – Girls, Louis Walsh – Groups

Location of Judges Houses was revealed:
Simon Cowell – Barbados, Dannii Minogue – St Tropez, Cheryl Cole – Cannes, Louis Walsh – Castle Leslie, Ireland

All acts performed one song in front of their mentor and a guest judge.
